Job Description

A world class, global manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to work at their modern manufacturing site in South Nottingham.As a Manufacturing / Production Engineer you will join a small manufacturing support team to work alongside other departments to analyse manufacturing effectiveness and identify and recommend improvements to machinery operations, tool designs, productionmethods and machine control to improve process capability.Details:

Key responsibilities of Manufacturing Engineer:
  • Collaborate with various departments to investigate safety and quality issues.
  • Identify the root cause of issues and formulate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead capital expense projects from quote to install.
  • Assist on the implementation of new automated processes.
  • Identify and lead projects to improve total preventative maintenance, ensuring critical equipment is identified and risks of unplanned downtime is minimised.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending relevant workshops and reading professional publications etc
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations
Qualifications and skills required:
  • Ideally 4+ years of previous Manufacturing / Production Engineer experience
  • Ideally have experience of CNC (turning) production, plastics would be highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of CNC coding would be desirable for trouble shooting
  • Degree in Engineering would be highly advantageous for future progression
  • Six Sigma trained / certified (Green Belt) preferred
  • Experience of SPC and ability to analyse relevant data
  • Ability to use Solidworks CAD to create fixtures for production
  • Experience of Process Mapping, PFMEA, Process Design, DFM and/or DMAIC tools
