An opportunity has opened for a qualified mammographer to come and join our friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary breast team based at the Nottingham Breast Institute.At the Nottingham Breast institute we provide outpatient services for those requiring diagnosis or treatment in the Nottingham area and we deliver the Nottinghamshire breast screening programme with a screening population of over 100,000 women. In this role you will work alongside our experienced team of advanced practitioners, radiographers, assistant practitioners and radiographic assistants participating in both screening and symptomatic mammography. You will also work within our family history, breast cancer follow-up and screening assessment clinics and will have the opportunity to perform Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography and Digital Breast Tomosynthesis. Installation of the GE SenoPristina Serena 3D biopsy system has also just been completed.Our breast screening service operates over 4 sites: the Nottingham Breast Institute, Ropewalk House and at our 2 mobile units. You will rotate to each of these locations whilst supporting and supervising our assistant practitioners.As a National Training Centre we train mammographers as part of the Post Graduate Award in Breast Imaging Practice and provide a variety of study days across the year which our staff have opportunity to attend. We actively encourage and support Continuous Professional Development activities and have won "Best Poster" at the Symposium Mammographicum on 2 occasions. We remain actively involved in research trials and clinical evaluations.You will hold a BSc. in Radiography or equivalent and have current radiographic experience. You will also be registered with the Health Care Professions Council and hold a UK recognised Postgraduate qualification in mammographic studies. A UK driving license and use of a vehicle for work purposes is essential.Working hours are 08:30 until 17:00 and a full UK driving license and use of a vehicle for work purposes is essential.Mammography posts have a gendered protected character, due to the nature of the work.
