Job Description

A global manufacturing company based in South Nottingham is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join their team in this newly created position.As the Maintenance Planner your main responsibility will be to improve production productivity and quality by eliminating potential machine delays through the planning and coordination of maintenance resources such as parts, materials, and equipment access.In conjunction with the Maintenance and Production leadership you will be jointly responsible for ensuring effective machine utilisation, reliability, and improved asset management.You will regularly be meeting contractors on site prior to their work commencement to ensure the correct work is to be completed, and then ensuring the work has been completed at the end of the day before being signed off.Details:

  • c£40k salary + Annual bonus scheme
  • Monday to Friday role (Approx. 7.30am – 4pm, some flex on hours possible)
  • 25 Days Holidays plus bank holidays

Key responsibilities of Maintenance Planner:
  • Develop long and short range maintenance schedules and plans.
  • Ensure H&S is always followed on every piece of maintenance work.
  • Review all incoming work orders for labour hours, total work duration, and skills required to perform tasks.
  • Act as primary contact point between Production and Maintenance, and balance the need for production output against proactive maintenance plans.
  • Ensure weekly Work Schedules are communicated and executed in accordance with plan.
  • Maintain BOM information for each asset responsible for.
  • Provide cost estimates, including labour, materials, and contract services, for each work order.
  • Create purchase requisitions.
  • Inform relevant parties of any critical situations.
  • Review work feedback to improve future plans.
Qualifications and skills required of Maintenance Planner:
  • Ideally hold engineering qualifications in mechanical, electrical or related fields
  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical, and general maintenance practices required.
  • Ability to read drawings and schematics would be very advantageous.
  • Good level of IT skills with common MS packages.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written necessary.
