AASCNottinghamPermanentFull Time 37.5hrsSalary £22,313 - £27,313+ Company BenefitsCompany Vehicle providedWe have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Officer to work in our Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract. AASC offers a range of improvements, with particular focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system. They will ensure thatvulnerable asylum seekers have access to the support they need and set clear requirements on the standard and condition of accommodation.The primary function of this role will be to provide building maintenance services to properties within the Nottingham Area to include fault fixes, cosmetic repairs and garden maintenance. You will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactivemaintenance tasks assigned within this region whilst working closely and collaboratively with other maintenance, field operation staff and housing staff and you will also support the work of sub-contractors, where required. You will provide specialist tradeservices and technical advice to support the maintenance teams and liaise with other members of the field operations team to support priorities ensuring all documentation relating to materials is kept in order and that all waste is removed from properties.You will ensure all accommodation is safe and habitable and in accordance with the Decent Homes Standard and ensuring that there are no hazards to users of the property and check all relevant property reports before undertaking works in the properties, e.g.asbestos, potentially dangerous persons, structural reports. You will also undertake once a year PAT testing for any properties in your area.A valid UK drivers licence is essential in order to provide a fully compliant service as there will be a requirement to be on-call outside of normal working hours with the ability to travel within the regions and occasionally within the UK.What you need to do the jobDue to the nature of the role Security clearance at Counter Terrorism Check level and Criminal Record Bureau checks are required (all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office).This is a role in which requires excellent organisational and interpersonal skills due to the variety of accountabilities which also include the following:
