Job Description

Urgent Requirement – Gardner / Groundsman – Nottingham – Until End of AugustVenn Group is currently recruiting for a Gardner / Groundsman for a large organisation based in the Nottingham area. The ideal candidate will be immediately available or available at short notice. The rate is between £9 - £10.50 per hour depending on experienceThe role will involve:

  • Carry out mowing of all grassed areas using a variety of moving equipment e.g. pedestrian mowers and strimmer
  • sweep up and remove all debris from the external pavements immediately around the entrances
  • Carry out general maintenance to all grassed areas e.g. edging, seeding, turfing
  • Maintain and water when necessary any hanging baskets
  • Participate fully in all relevant estates procedures and ensure completion of all necessary documentation in accordance with Estates Department Policies
  • Give assistance and support to other trade disciplines within the Estates Department to ensure an efficient estates service is provided
    • The ideal candidate will have:
    1. Possess landscape experience in a multi-site and/or similar environments (soft landscaping; sports, amenity, trees, shrubs, lawns)
    2. Have attained suitable experience in a wide range of landscape tools, equipment & machinery (pedestrian and ride on mowers, tractors, strimmers etc)
    3. Undertaken a range of pesticide applications
    4. Possess a full, clean, current driving licence
    5. Possess formal horticultural qualifications within the landscape sector (NVQ, BTEC or equivalent)
    6. Possess PA1/PA6A pesticide certificates
