Lab TechnicianLocation: Nottingham, NG15 0DRSalary: Starting at £25,486.20 (inclusive of a 33 % Shift ), increasing upon completion of training.Hours: 6am to 6pm, Days / 6pm to 6am, NightsShifts: 12 hours shifts (Continental Shift Pattern- 3 on and 3 off)Established in 2000, Turbine Surface Technologies is a joint venture between Rolls- Royce and Chromalloy, providing specialist coatings solutions to state-of-the-art turbine components. Situated on Sherwood Business Park in Annesley, Nottingham.We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated lab team, an integral part of the business that provides laboratory assessment of coated turbine components to meet customer requirements.The Role:As a lab technician you will follow work instructions to carry out a laboratory assessment of turbine components using our state-of-the-art lab equipment. Taking accountability for your actions by signing and stamping as verification of work carried out.This is an entry level job and full training will be provided with opportunities for further development.As a production facility we operate a 24/7 rotating shift pattern: working 3 days on and 3 days off.12 Hour Days from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm and 12 Hour Nights from 6.00 pm to 6.00am.The basic starting salary will be £25,486.20 (inclusive of 33.3% shift premium). Salary will increase upon successful completion of training.Responsibilities and duties: Be receptive and committed to all training and learning opportunities provided. Laboratory assessment of turbine components using Optical Microscopes and Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM). Chemical analysis to support production processes. Comply with all Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality requirements and procedures.Lab Technician - The successful candidate:Skills and Knowledge: Good organisational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail. Self-motivated, ability to work to targets. A basic level of literacy and numeracy is required. Basic computer skills required to use internal systems and record results.Desirable:Whilst these are desirable, full training will be provided and the right candidate will have a positive attitude and be looking develop their skills. Previous experience in a lab environment or lab role.
