IT Systems Administrator ( Linux / Red Hat ) | 30 - 35k | NottinghamAre you an experienced system administrator in a big team who is fed up with just being a number Why not take that next step in your career and join a small, fun, highly reputable, local company where you will really matterYou’ll join a team of 5, including a Head of, an Architect, a Senior Sys Admin, an Infrastructure Implementation Engineer & a 1st liner. You will be team member number 6, working closely with the Senior Sys Admin on both day-to-day tasks and project work. This is a rapidly expanding fintech business where if you work hard you can progress your career in any way you like, as long as it’s something you’re passionate about. The chap you’ll be working closely with started his career here 10 years ago in a non-IT role, and he’s now a Senior Systems Administrator looking to progress even further up the ladder, so you’ll be surrounded by ambition from day one & learning from some very successful & knowledgeable team members. They have 150 Red Hat boxes so from a tech perspective the key to this role is Linux. Linux system administration such as patching/updating, monitoring, configuration, etc, and AWS infrastructure planning, implementation and maintenance. Plus a TON of project work.Because it’s such a small team you’ll also find yourself getting involved in lots of little extra bits – that’s just the way they work, if something breaks, they fix it. This means you’ll learn a lot in a short space of time, both through trial and error and from your colleagues. As a business they’re incredibly supportive - you’ll be joining what feels like a family more than a company, with many of their staff having worked there for 10 years or more! Because of this it’s a really relaxed atmosphere where people actually enjoy one another’s company. They can’t wait to get back into the office when it’s safe, so to join them a few days a week you’ll need to live within a commutable distance of Nottingham. They’re a sociable bunch who enjoy spending time together outside of the office too….Last month they even did a virtual wine tasting one Friday night as a video get-together! They aren’t letting lockdown spoil their social scene! In short, if you’re an experienced Linux Systems Administrator in the East Midlands looking to join a small, collaborative business where you will really feel like part of the family for years to come then apply now – don’t miss out on this one, you won’t find a similar role elsewhere!Distinct Recruitment Privacy Policy
