Job Description

The Purchasing team oversees acquiring and maintaining products and services in a cost-effective manner while considering both customer and company needs. They serve as the primary buyers and handle the placement and acceleration of purchase orders, negotiatingwith suppliers to secure the best price and value promptly. The team operates in a dynamic environment and must implement efficient procurement processes while focusing on innovation, integrity, cost-effectiveness, risk management, and overall value.Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize tasks and meet SLAs using a task management system
  • Place orders and obtain written confirmation from suppliers
  • Find the best price, quality, availability, and value for all products/services through RFQ process
  • Support senior buyers in achieving budget and forecast targets
  • Manage product sourcing, pricing, and lead time for both regular and special-order items
  • Maintain accurate product and supplier information, including code maintenance
  • Collaborate with the sales team to handle customer requirements
  • Handle backorders effectively to minimize delays and errors
  • Update all departments on ETA and lead time information and proactively communicate changes
  • Reduce costs associated with aged and ex-demo stock
  • Minimize the negative impact of customer cancellations and returns through supplier negotiation
  • Establish long-term relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders for competitive advantage
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance as per department policy
  • Handle supplier relationships as per ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 procedures
  • Process supplier returns and maintain a non-conformance system as per ISO 9001
  • Notify the accounts department when orders are complete for prompt invoicing
  • Other duties as reasonably required
