Job Description

Finegreen are currently supporting an NHS organisation in the recruitment of an Interim Head of EPRR.This role will start ASAP and is expected to be for 3 months initially with an option to extend. The rate will be under the CCS NMNC RM6277 framework and will be between c£255 and c£310 a day.The post holder will lead on the development and implementation of all arrangements relating to the organisation’s preparedness for, and resilience to, significant incidents and emergencies.Key responsibilities include:

  • Efficiently provide leadership in business continuity/emergency planning, organisational policy, and procedure development;
  • Lead the development and implementation of EPRR delivery plans;
  • Expected to make a significant contribution to the overall success of the services in implementingstrategic vision and strategy within their area of responsibility and ensuring these are delivered through clear objectives and targets;
  • Advise, providing strategic direction to all departments in making major decisions, including implementing their major incident plans;
  • Ensure that the organisation has robust systems in place to manage a major incident, equipped facilities, and logistical arrangements to support officers working from the Strategic Coordinating Group or SILVER Command;
  • Ensure that EPRR corporate responsibilities are met;
  • Apply principles of a risk-based approach towards resilience, preparedness, the application of dynamic risk assessment and the use of Decision-Making Models in supporting these processes;
  • Understand the potential operational implications of significant incidents and emergencies eg. long-term recovery or wide-area issue;
  • Collect and analyse relevant information at operational / incident level.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Demonstrable experience in Emergency Planning and/ or Business Continuity within the NHS;
  • Post graduate emergency planning related certificate or further specialist knowledge / experience equivalent;
  • Project management knowledge and skills to enable the post holder to deliver objectives;
  • Experience of initiating, conducting and evaluating risk assessments;
  • Evidence of ability to manage complex and diverse issues.
