Academy Trust)Salary:£33,486 to £37,568Contract type: Temporary & Full TimeThe Supply Register are delighted to be working in partnership with the L.E.A.D Academy Trust to appoint an Interim Business Manager to join their team on a temporary basis. Due to internal promotion, the Edna G Olds Academy are seeking a Business Managerto join them on a temporary basis.The role will be to start as soon as possible and there is likely to be some work in the summer holidays too.About Edna G Olds Academy:"Edna G Olds Academy is an inner city school situated within the vibrant community of Lenton, Nottingham. There are currently 227 pupils on roll who truly reflect the diverse cultural heritage of our wonderful local community, for example, 73% of ourchildren speak an additional language other than English.Developing a culture of excellence whereby the primary focus is upon exceptional teaching and learning provision ensures that all our pupils will flourish and get to realise their potential. The whole school community is passionately committed towards creating an environment that thrives on curiosity, challenge, encouragement and kindness."The Roles & Responsibilities of the Interim Business Manager will include but not be limited to:

  • Managing School budgets
  • Monitoring income and expenditure including forecasting as requested by the central finance team
  • Prepare annual reports for the head teacher as well as budget updates for the senior leadership team
  • Follow the Academy & Trust policies and procedures
  • Be confident with the PSF accounting package
  • Ensure Purchase Orders are authorised for all financial commitments
  • Checking invoices are checked thoroughly
  • Ensure value for money is always considered
  • Maintain an asset register in line with Trust Policy
  • Ensure that PSF is kept up dated at all times
  • Promote the use of a cash free system where appropriate
  • Investigate ways to generate income and apply for any available grants
  • Have knowledge of the Trusts HR policies & procedures
  • Manage the recruitment process
  • Assist the head teacher with shortlisting and interview processes
  • Ensure pre-employment checks are carries out and personnel files are kept up dated
  • Manage contract & salary changes and ensure that HCSS & SIMS are kept up to date
  • Monitor staff absence on MIS
  • Performance Management on line managed staff
  • Involvement in payroll - E.g review of overtime, expenses & unpaid leave
  • Responsibility for premises management & Health & Safety
  • Line management ofSecretary/Receptionist, Data Assistant/Receptionist, First Aider, Site Manager
Overall, the School Business manager promotes the highest standards of business ethos within the administrative function of the school and strategically ensures the most effective use of resources in support of the academys learning objectives.
