Job Description

Reporting in to the Group HR Manager you will be responsible for managing all day to day HR operations for a larger food manufacturing site, relocating to Nottinghamshire from the Northwest. This is a HR generalist role that also involves managing projects, the perfect blend! This is a big role that you will grow into quickly, perhaps suited to someone moving into HR Management for the first time It will utilise all aspects of your previous HR experience and put them to work. It will test both your HR skills but more broadly your ability to manage change, conflict and solve problems. This organisation is growing rapidly, its restructuring commercially and hiring and scaling and at the same time looking to ensure that it meets its commercial objectives. Of course it wants to build the right culture, high performing teams and improve its leadership capabilities but critically it is keen to ensure its production workforce is happy, healthy and engaged, not easy with some much change happening. So this is very much a HR generalist role at heart and a standalone role, although you will have support around you from every angle. This role will also offer the post holder automony to make decisions and drive change, but of course this will be all part of a wider and more comprehensive roadmap for the business, the outcomes of which will need to be fully understood from the outset. Full break down of the role below.

  • On site lead for project to relocate current manufacturing site to a Brand New 90,000 sq ft site in the locality.
  • Manage all new starter documentation and inductions, ensuring all records are in place and employees on boarded
  • Train managers on HR policies and procedure, supporting the development of the HR function across the site.
  • Support organisational change and any resource planning required
  • Generate KPI reports – in areas like headcount, absence, overtime, staff turnover
  • Drive improvements within these KPIs e.g. reducing absence, increasing staff retention, overtime minimisation, agency labour optimisation etc.
  • Lead Managers on disciplinary and grievance issues in line with legislation, policy and best practice
  • Manage sickness absence and long term absence, to ensure the consistent application of the policy
  • Support performance management activity across the Business
  • Design, implement and deliver appropriate HR training including all on site inductions.
  • As appropriate, be responsible for any other tasks, projects, duties and work streams which contribute to the success of the site
  • Connect with any outgoing employees for an exit interview, analysing trends and providing feedback where appropriate to management
  • First line HR support across the business providing accurate and comprehensive HR advice, escalating matters to the Group HR team where necessary.
  • Track and ensure accurate holiday and clocking in data for all employees on the site
  • Keep the business compliant in terms of legislation, SEDEX and customer standards
  • The ideal candidate will be very smart, ambitious and emotionally intelligent. Were looking for someone who would see this role as the next step in their career, a person who is keen to move more into a HR Management role, someone keen to grow into a role that will scale....afterall this is one of the fastest growing food companies in the world! Were looking for a HR Business Partner or HR Manager who has been involved in HR projects alongside more generalist HR duties, the more challenging the projects the better.
