Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our gynaecology services team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual who is passionate about providing high quality primary care.At Primary Integrated Community Services (PICS), we are committed to putting patient care first and we are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic Health Care Assistants who share our values and our passion for good quality patient focused care providing health care support to our community gynecology service. PICS are an innovative and rapidly expanding primary care organisation providing quality health services, delivered by local professionals to benefit our local communities.You must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and enjoy a challenge. NHS experience is desirable but by no means essential. An empathetic approach to patients, flexible working times and good communication are essential.You will be working within a supportive team of nurses and clinical specialists in our growing community gynecology service. These services cover most of the Nottinghamshire area. The Health Care Assistant works under indirect supervision from the Lead Nurse and Practice Nurses, undertaking appropriately delegated tasks and duties. The role provides support to the practice nursing team to enable them to function effectively. The post holder is expected to contribute to the nursing team’s aim of providing high quality, safe and effective nursing care to the practice population.We pride ourselves on being caring, safe and excellent; we work to constantly improve the quality of care we provide and we expect our staff to commit to and demonstrate these values.It is essential that you have a Full UK Driving License and the sole access to a suitable vehicle.[Role Requirements] – Who are you looking for

  • d numeracy and literacy skills demonstrated by GCSE grade A-C / Functional skills level 2 English & Maths or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care / Care Certificate or equivalent training & experience or willingness to undertake
  • A demonstrable commitment to professional development
  • [Role Responsibilities] – What will the candidate be doing
  • To perform venepuncture for patients including patients from sixteen years old, using vacutainer system and ensure they are clearly labelled and sent
  • To set out consumables for clinicians to select from e.g. speculums, gel, cream, forceps, pessary equipment
  • To measure and record on practice approved templates, physiological signs - alerting a registered practitioner in an appropriate timeframe if physiological signs are outside normal parameters.
