Job Description

Job Title: Grounds personLocation: Nottingham City Hospital, Hucknall Road, NG5 1PBShift Pattern: 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours a week)Pay: £12.45 per hourTrust Location: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS TrustAbout the Trust:We deliver district general services to 2.5m residents of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, and its surrounding communities. Our specialist services allow us to deliver care to 4.5m people from across the East Midlands and nationally for a handful of services.QMC is where our Emergency Department (ED), Major Trauma Centre and the Nottingham Childrens Hospital are based. It is also home to the University of Nottinghams School of Nursing and Medical School. Nottingham City Hospital is our planned care site, whereour cancer centre, heart centre and stroke services are based, and where some of our emergency admissions units are located. Ropewalk House is where we provide a range of outpatient services, including hearing services.What you will be responsible for:

  • Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging lawns etc
  • Use power tools and hand tools to build and maintain outdoor structures
  • Dig trenches for irrigation systems and install/maintain irrigation equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of outdoor spaces
  • Perform routine maintenance on groundskeeping equipment
  • Monitor and control pests and diseases
You will have the following skills/experience:
  • Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques
  • Proficiency in operating power tools and hand tools
  • Knowledge of proper planting, watering, and care for plants
  • Mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance on equipment
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • work with other team members to complete gardening projects
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain clean and organized working areas
  • Ability to lift/transport heavy objects
  • To be able to remain on your feet for long periods of time.
