Junior Android / Javascript DeveloperIt could be said the best time to join a company is not right at the start (when so much can go wrong!), but maybe once the company has created a great product, found multiple buyers and has developed the confidence to grow beyond that small initial team.That’s exactly where we are with this employer. An entrepreneur with a proven track record found an opportunity in a growing market to develop a unique piece of software, taught himself to code (enough to get a viable product off the ground) and then took the product to market, with ridiculously good results.He’s now hoping to add the company’s very first Android developer to create an Android app that will be as well received as their current iOS one. They currently use an external company to develop their software but want to bring as much in-house as possible, so the plan is to grow the development team and for your role to grow with the company.They are moving to one of Nottingham’s coolest office locations as the MD is serious about the company’s growth and developing and amazing internal culture, and I get the distinct impression that he wants someone who will be as pumped about the future prospects of the company as he is; the potential market is huge and the demand hasn’t decreased during the pandemic!The great thing about this opportunity is the freedom you will be given and the chance to work directly with an entrepreneur who gets tech and would welcome your insights and opinions.However, it’s a position that will demand a lot of you - as it’s a small company it won’t be the usual 9-5.30pm! He wants someone to bounce ideas off, someone who is able to express their ideas and persuade people to their way of thinking and above all else someone who is very good at developing software and seeing opportunities to improve things for the user, not someone who will wait to be told what to do.The role could develop into an awesome career at the company where you could be the CTO in a few years’ time, or managing a team, or you can use this position to build your skills and experience before moving onto a bigger company in a more senior role - the MD doesn’t mind if someone is ambitious and wants to progress quickly…he likes people who back themselves and don’t mind working hard to get ahead and accelerate past their peers.Importantly, you will have a portfolio of applications you have written that you can showcase at interview, including at least one end to end Android project.If you’re a graduate or self-taught Junior developer with proven experience in developing Android applications, whether that be React Native, Kotlin, Java, Ionic or even Xamarin, then get in touch if you’re looking for something a little bit different, but potentially life changing to kick start your software development career.You’ll also need a dash of Javascript experience and possibly a smattering of iOS to put yourself in prime position for this role.The salary on offer is up to £26k, with 25 days holiday and some flexible working once you’ve settled in and the possibility of a performance related bonus or two as you start to add more and more value to the company.Drop us a line or apply for a guaranteed, personal response.
