Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Manager/Divisional Lead within a well-established Company which is respected throughout the water and waste water industries.The role is a key appointment for my client and is a Senior Leader/Director level role. You will report directly to the Managing Director and the role forms part of the senior leadership team.The role is based at the Companies Depot in Nottingham, however, there will be travel throughout the UK, including Scotland.The General Manager/ Divisional Lead will ideally have a background within Structural Refurbishment/Repair, Concrete Repair, Waterproofing, Resin Injection - although those with a heavy civils engineering background would be considered.Extreme preference to those with a background in Service Reservoir and Dams Refurbishment schemes across the UK.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and proven individual to lead the growth of the division across a range of sectorsThe Role: The General Manager/Divisional Lead will assume overall leadership for the Structural Repair division including line management of Project Managers / Contract Managers & QSE Leads.Key Responsibilities as General Manager/Divisional Lead:

  • Responsibility and accountability for the successful and safe delivery of projects across the UK
  • H&S responsibility, working closely with QSE Manager to develop H&S strategy bespoke to the business segment
  • Lead Framework and tender bids both commercially and technically
  • Finalise month end process, good understanding of commercial reporting, CVRs and business management
  • Support project teams with commercial, technical and project related concerns or issues
  • Lead and grow the team, provide mentorship of existing staff
  • Provide H&S Leadership, be seen, be supportive and encourage best in class
  • Represent the division at monthly commercial meetings
  • Attend senior client and internal meetings
  • Chair monthly / weekly divisional meetings
  • Assist with allocation of resource on a weekly/monthly basis
The Person:
  • Previous experience in a similar General Manager/Divisional Lead role
  • Proven leader in the concrete repair / structural refurbishment market
  • Business development / tender / estimating experience - able to review and understand bottom-up pricing process
  • Applicants ideally will come from degree/higher education background (or equivalent) although extensive industry experience would be considered
  • Ability to lead and manage people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to communicate with site teams, senior internal contacts and clientele alike
  • Strong commercial background and knowledge of construction contracts especially NEC3/4 suites
  • Business Management experience
  • Key decision maker, ability to think clearly under pressure and provide solutions / suggestions for the team
