Functional Skills and English TutorLocation: NottinghamAn exciting job opportunity is available for a Functional Skills and English Tutor to join a reputable training provider in the East Midlands.This organisation operates as a “non for profit” company and has an amazing reputation.The Functional Skills Tutor would qualify for the following:• Permanent position offering a highly competitive salary range between £27000-£30000• 25 days, rising to 30 days + bank holidays + flexible working hours between Monday-FridayAs a Functional Skills and English Tutor, the successful candidate will need to use English teaching and learning strategies to deliver programs that meet the learners needs. They will be responsible for planning and delivering English sessions both remotelyand in-person, on a one-to-one basis, and in group settings.Responsibilities of the Functional Skills Tutor include:• Consistently delivering good or better teaching sessions, incorporating various learning strategies and technologies to enable outstanding learning outcomes• Coordinating and leading English delivery for a caseload of learners, ensuring that assessments are correctly evidenced for funding claims• Provide academic and pastoral support to students• Working towards excellence, and improving standards, and proactively engaging with internal and external stakeholders.• Travelling around the East Midlands to deliver engaging Maths training sessions to groups of up to 10 learnersSkills and Experience Required for the Functional Skills and English Tutor• Hold a recognised Teaching Qualification, Functional Skills level 2 or above in English• Have previous experience delivering English Functional Skills to Apprenticeship Learners• Be proficient in using Microsoft Teams and virtual learning platforms• Have a strong track record of good or better teaching and learning delivery,• Have knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity.• Must also hold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for site learner visits.This job opportunity is managed by Pertemps Work-Based Learning and Skills, and interested candidates can contact for more information.
