Job Description

PICS is a local company wholly owned by GPs, specialising in community-based care, and run for the benefit of patients.ABOUT THE ROLEWe have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic First Contact Physiotherapist/Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual who is enthusiastic about providing high quality care.Based within Arnold and Calverton PCN covering The Calverton Practice, Higcroft Surgery and Stemhouse Medical Centre Arnold with a patient population in excess of 33,000.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide expert assessment, diagnosis and management of MSK patients, requesting investigations and carrying out onward referral into community-based services, secondary care and 3rd sector/social prescribing where relevant.
  • Management of patients with complex presentations including long-term conditions, comorbidities and multi-factorial needs.
  • Provide clinical expertise, acting autonomously within the boundaries of locally agreed pathways and protocols as appropriate to the role being carried out (FCP or APP).
  • Making decisions about the best course of action for patients care (including in relation to undifferentiated conditions). This will involve seeing patients, without prior contact with their GP, in order to establish a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan.
  • KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • BSc or equivalent in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registered
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
  • Evidence of post graduate qualification or evidence of working at an equivalent level in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
