Job Description

Qualified Financial Accountant| Listed Pharmaceuticals Company | Nottingham/HybridHarmonic are delighted to be working with a world leading pharmaceuticals business in their search for a Financial Accountant. Our client supports customers worldwide (including the NHS and private healthcare providers) in drug development and scientificresearch. Patient care is the driving force behind this companys incredible mission.Following recent internal promotions, our client is looking for a recently qualified accountant who is looking to rapidly develop their career within an incredibly versatile PLC. They were instrumental during the Covid-19 Pandemic and continue to do incrediblework in biotechnology and pharma, leading to an incredible group revenue of £100m.Despite their international renown, they have retained a fast-paced environment with a close-knit team. The best candidate will share this passion for an ambitious, fast-moving company and be an active participant in their inclusive, sociable culture.The Role: This role is incredibly broad and hands-on, taking ownership of the groups daily technical finances and contributing hugely from a commercial perspective. This role will work closely with the Financial Controller and CFO, so the right person is someone ambitious,intelligent, and happy to work autonomously, as well as part of a team. There are fantastic progression opportunities within the business and numerous opportunities for exposure to more senior responsibilities to develop the role yourself.Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of daily technical accounting, including bank reconciliations and management accounts.
  • Lead company audit and month end processes.
  • Liaise with accounts teams and external advisors to produce group tax returns.
  • Point of contact between group and subsidiary business units, ensuring group standards are followed.
  • Prepare financial models and analysis, with commentary, for senior management.
  • Support the Financial Controller and Group CFO on various projects and tasks, including projects for the Groups US entities.
  • Management of a junior report.
What our client would like to see (essential):
  • Strong technical accountant with proven audit experience.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Ambitious, clear communicator. Works well as a team but happy to work autonomously.
  • Knowledge of IFRS standards and audit experience.
  • Ambitious and understands the chaos that life in a scaling company involves!
  • Ability to travel on occasion as needed.
What wed like to see (bonus):
  • Experience in a pharmaceuticals or medical services business.
  • Experience within a fast-growth business/start-ups.
  • Experience using Microsoft NAV.
  • Experience with Tax Reporting.
