Job Description

Axon Moore are working in partnership with a Private Equity backed FMCG business based near to Nottingham in the appointment of a Finance Director.The Finance Director will be the No. 2 to the CFO in the finance function, however there is a clear path to becoming CFO in the future with a great level of support and development offered to this person.The Finance Director will oversee the day to day, operational activities of the finance function and lead the team members, as well as be heavily involved in preparing strategic information that is reviewed by the board.The role will have broad responsibility over both commercial finance and financial reporting duties.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the finance team and reviewing their output, which includes transactional duties, P&L, reconciliations etc.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes
  • Support the wider business with preparation of budgets, forecasts and opening communication channels with budget holders
  • Carry out treasury duties including cashflows, liaison with banks etc
  • Ensure robust controls are in place around costings and compliance guidelines are met
  • Input into board meetings and producing high level insight to aid commercial decision making across the business
This is an ideal opportunity for a senior and ambitious finance professional who is on their way to becoming a CFO within a PE backed business.The ideal candidate should have the following background:
  • Qualified finance leader with broad commercial finance and financial reporting skills
  • Strong costings experience
  • Driven and ambitious personality, able to work at pace and deal with internal and external stakeholders in a credible and professional way
