Job Description

Butler Rose is pleased to be supporting an organisation (bordering Nottingham) that has a global reach with the recruitment of a Finance Business Partner. In this role you can be part of a team dedicated to forging better connections between businesses,customers, and communities. Our client offers innovative supply chain management, freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution services that sets them apart as one of the global leaders in their industry.Role Overview:As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in the organisation by closely collaborating with a specific area of the business. By establishing a real and active partnership with both operations and management, you will provide "real-time"support and analysis, acting as a trusted advisor and adding value to decision-making processes. Effective communication skills, audience understanding, and the ability to deliver information clearly and concisely are essential. Utilising your analytical,commercial, and communication abilities, you will drive improvements in financial performance.Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate financial information by preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts, balance sheet reconciliations, and other financial analysis and reports in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Produce required information or business reporting as requested by senior finance staff, such as audits or ad hoc analysis.
  • Provide insightful explanations and commentaries on financial information, identifying areas for improvement and driving actions.
  • Collaborate with local management to prepare budgets and forecasts for your designated area of responsibility.
  • Assist in managing the cash cycle by ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and debt collection.
  • Support Business Development with the end-to-end process of RFI/tender activities.
  • Prepare investment applications promptly, adhering to company policy and including all pertinent information for decision-making.
  • Ensure site administration and operational management understand company policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement or training needs.
  • Challenge site administration to provide accurate information, including quicks.
  • Manage and guide your team, offering coaching and support to foster individual and collective success.
  • Cultivate a positive and high-performance team culture, encouraging teamwork, motivation, and professional development.
Key Requirements:
  • Qualified (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA), or qualified by experience Accountant
  • Excellent knowledge of current accounting standards (IFRS and UKGAAP) and financial legislative requirements.
  • Experience in a similar role within a complex, fast-paced organisation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to bridge the gap between Finance and Operations.
  • Ability to add value to decision-making processes and influence day-to-day operations.
  • Proven ability to challenge procedures and drive improvement and efficiency.
  • Outstanding stakeholder influencing skills.
  • Confidence in dealing with non-compliance and enforcing procedures and policies.
