Job Description

IT and Audio Visual Field Support Engineer£20,000 per annumNottingham, NottinghamshirePermanent, full-timeMy clients are an IT and Audio Visual Solution Provider with a track record of great service and innovative approaches to business problems. We have a team of support engineers around the country, and now have identified a need for a team member based inor around Nottingham, due to its central location based on our customer sites.The role will be to attend customer sites as scheduled by the head office team (in Basingstoke), resolving the issues reported with the systems that we support. Examples are to swap PCs and test/demonstrate their functions to users, replace audio-visualcomponents such as amplifiers, switchers, microphones etc., and help users make the most of their AV technology.Since we distribute the engineering team around the country, we work to ensure that the support calls including travel are within a typical working day. However, some flexibility can be required, for example, if a room is only available for maintenance atcertain times, or a colleague further afield needs help with a specific task.To be considered for this role we need people who can demonstrate the following attributes;

  • Great, friendly manner, especially with non-technical users
  • A strong desire to help the end-user
  • Full driving license for driving the vans
  • IT knowledge to be able to demonstrate and fault-find on site
  • Practical skills to be able to deal with the physical elements of the solutions - for example, replacing speakers in ceilings, mounting large format displays on walls
Previous IT support knowledge - for example, A+/ITIL/MCDST/Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Support/N+/CCENT type experience/qualifications - would be beneficial, as would existing H&S qualifications such a CSCS recognised card, PASMA etc., and previous evidenceof DBS clearance or better would also be useful for some of our clients. However, all of these can also be pursued while working with us, and this role could also be an excellent introduction to the exciting world of Audio Visual and IT for someone with theright attributes and attitude.As well as the job and company van/tools, you will have opportunities for overtime, a pension scheme, and the chance to join a friendly team with a great atmosphere - even though you will be remote, the engineers are always speaking to the HQ support teamand each other.Required skills
  • Customer Care
  • Driver
  • Health Safety
  • Network Infrastructure
