Job Description

Job Title – ETL / Datawarehouse Developer Function – Business Intelligence (Finance) Location – Alfreton or Nottingham, with working from home options Type – Permanent (full time, 37.5 hours per week) Salary – £40,000 - £50,000 per annum Closing Date – 13 June 2021 We have a rare opportunity to join our Business Intelligence team as an ETL / Datawarehouse Developer. NHS Supply Chain is a £2.1bn turnover healthcare / supply chain business which has ambitious growth plans in place and is set to increase its market share from c. 50% to 80% over the next 2-3 years. Underpinning this journey is our technology capability: it is our systems and technology that has supported the whole NHS through the pandemic. We are at the start of an ambitious and significant architectural refresh of our systems, leveraging industry leading technology to replace our ERP, eCommerce and supporting systems with cloud based systems, whilst we continue to support the technology that will eventually be replaced. Reporting to the Senior Business Intelligence Developer, you will play a key role in the continued development and support of Business Intelligence solutions within SCCL and the wider NHS Supply Chain, driving the business towards a culture of data driven decision making and helping users gain valuable insights into the performance of the business. What does an ETL Developer do at NHS Supply Chain

  • Provides subject matter expertise in Datawarehouse design and ETL processes.
  • Builds and maintains SSIS packages to deliver.
  • Develops and enhances stored procedures. Writes ad-hoc SQL queries to support report requests.
  • Creates test plans, test cases, test scripts and performs data testing and validation.
  • Develops and delivers Business Intelligence solutions in accordance with business reporting requirements.
  • Documents reporting requirements and report specification documents.
  • Documents and assists with the creation of solution design documents.
  • Manages key relationships with internal and external stakeholders and issue resolution.
  • Translates business reporting requirements into technical solutions that help to support decision making through the analysis of measures and metrics used by the business

  • Significant experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) 2008 and above
  • Demonstrableexperience of SQL (ORACLE/SQL server)
  • Demonstrableexperience of BI/Data Warehouse concepts and standards.
  • Significant experience in Data warehousing, Data mart development (Kimble design methodology).
  • Experience in tuning T-SQL queries to improve the database performance and availability. Able to write complex queries including Stored Procedures using T -SQL.
  • Experience of object creation such as Tables and Views, Data Dictionaries, Data Integrity, Performance Tuning and indexes.
  • Experience supporting a production database warehouse environment.
