Together, well promote sustainable growth, tackle climate change and secure a better future for everyone.As an Environment Officer, you will play a critical frontline role protecting the environment helping create a cleaner, safer and healthier environment for people and wildlife. Dealing with a wide range of environmental issues from regulating permitted andillegal operations to protecting rivers and waterways.As an Environment Officer you will enter the role on a EOA grade £23,448 and follow a structured development program to reach EOB grade £28,785. This is expected to take up to 18 months and is awarded after demonstrating the required capabilities.During this development period you will be required to demonstrate the personal effectiveness skills essential to a regulatory role such as good communication and influencing skills. Together with demonstrating and applying your understanding of the varioustechnical regimes within the responsibility of the team you are in. That would be either a waste or land and water regulatory team. You will understand and apply the relevant legislation and the appropriate compliance interventions to take. As a regulatoryou will be expected to take enforcement action where a business or individual fails to comply with the relevant legislation which on occasion can require giving evidence in court.As well as training you will also be supported with appropriate equipment and clothing to ensure you will remain safe.What do I needIdeally you will have previous regulatory experience, but if this is your first role or a career change dont worry as we provide all the training and support youll need.
