Working within an engineering consultancy gives us a unique opportunity to work alongside specialist engineers when conducting our investigations, supporting both your own developmentand expertise in interpretation of data as well as improvements in the use of geophysics and geophysical data to better support projects.Were looking for a mid-level geophysicist specialising in application of geophysical tools to the engineering environment. The candidate should be able to hit the ground running and be confident in use and interpretation of data from of a variety of near surfacegeophysical techniques and applications, ideally including: Geo-environmental, asset management, buried utilities, buried features and obstructions, structural ndt, shallow marine.Minimum RequirementsThe candidate should have prior experience in conducting geophysical surveys for engineering applications. They should be able to

  • Plan and optimise geophysical investigations within the engineering environment.
  • Evaluate technical aspects and resources required;
  • Assist in evaluating commercial and health & safety aspects.
  • Lead site work using a variety of different geophysical techniques, across a wide range of structures and environments.
  • Be prepared to work at weekends and nights in support of projects and other team members.
  • Perform computerised and manual analysis and interpretation of data.
  • Prepare technical reports in a variety of formats;
  • Perform QA as appropriate.
  • Depending upon experience, assist in business development and maintain customer relationships.
  • Experience in geophysical investigations including site work, analysis and reporting.
  • Experience of techniques including GPR, ERT, Seismic refraction, Magnetic gradiometry, EM, Microgravity.
  • Topographical (and CAD/Microstation Skills)
  • Motivated to achieve targets and a good team player.

  • UK Driving License
  • Relevant Degree, MSc or PhD
