Avanti Recruitment have once again partnered with a long standing client of ours to recruit an Embedded Linux Software Engineer to join their well-respected R&D group in the East Midlands working on next generation video streaming and broadcast solutions.You’ll be joining an established team of embedded software, firmware, hardware and video experts in a senior-level engineering position playing a key role in helping develop their next-generation video over IP solutions - this isn’t merely a new features for old products type role - much of their product roadmap is new ground for the company and this is a proper R&D role in a proper software engineering business.You’ll be providing key embedded Linux based input for architectural discussions and be working in a fully hands on C/C++ development role for ARM based SoC’s running embedded Linux.To excel in this role, you’ll need the following:Deep Embedded Linux knowledgeStrong C/C++ (emphasis on C++)Experience working at driver level and aboveGood knowledge of protocols including TCP/IP, L2 & L3Linux socket programmingDesirable experience (can be picked up on the job)YoctoRESTful API’sVideo codecs, standards or frameworks (MPEG, H.264, G-Streamer Video for Linux V4L/V4L2)In return you’ll get strong salary and package with stacks of interesting R&D project work in a company renowned for progression and staff development, a closely knit team environment and a culture of really looking after their staff.Click the apply button now to register your interest or contact Dave at Avanti Recruitment for further information.
