Job title: Dual Skilled TechnicianJob location: NottinghamHourly pay rate: £21.06 Paye or £27.10 UmbrellaShifts: 4 on 4 off (days, nights, weekends)Hours per week: 40 average with potential for O/TDuration: 6 months plusStart date: ASAPIndustries considered: Rolling Stock, Rail, HGV, Avionics, RAF, REME, Navy, FMCG, SPM Defence, Plant Technician, Marine EngineerDisciplines considered: Maintenance Tech, Fault Finder, Dual Skilled Technician, Avionics, Mechanical Technician, Diesel Engineer, Maintenance Fitter, Rolling Stock Tech, Electrical TechnicianClient Summary:Our client is a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance.Position Summary:The role will provide a fault finding and technical advice service to the managers and technicians working on new fleet of Rail Vehicles.Working as part of the Engineering team, this challenging role involves investigating faults and defects on a fleet of modern vehicles.Fault finding of the existing fleet of vehicles, including fault reporting to the customer and carrying out of planned maintenance of vehicles during test and passenger service operation. This will include verification of new planned maintenance documents,assisting with modification to trains post warranty period, carrying out depot and on-train tasks, liaison with train operators, project and depot staff.You will also be expected to remove and replace the interiors to access electrical items. Youll be expected to test and inspect all replaced components with a fluke meter, so you must be competent in this area. This is a Safety Critical position and is a requirementagainst the Service Agreement (SA).Other duties would include:* To continuously improve processes and procedures.* to coach and develop other train maintainers when required.* To report accidents and incidents through the appropriate channels.* To read reports, manuals, and to participate in training programs.* Use line side equipment in accordance with the relevant processes.* Use handheld devices as instructed to assist in the completion of tasks.* Work off site to undertake maintenance or to attend failed trams.* Drive company vehicles if licensed and authorised to do so.* To carry out personal objectives set with production manager.Person Profile/Experience:* Team player* High level of technical knowledge both mechanically and electrically* Flexibility and Adaptability.* Consistently seeks new challenges.
