Job Description

***Devops Engineer - Contract - Remote***Devops/Platform Engineer6 Month Rolling ContractRemote with Travel to Nottingham from April£Competitivepwd Ltd CompRole: Container Orchestrations, Docker, Linux, Jenkins, CI/CDWe currently have a contract opportunity for a Devops Engineer with strong Container orchestrations experience to start a rolling contract remote based. We are looking for someone with experience in using and managing Docker based services, with a background in both Python and CI/CD to ensure sustainability in a smaller team and to progress our controls and health backlog.Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a small, self-organised Data engineering team to design and develop software features that are delightful and vital to the lives of credit card consumers across all walks of life
  • Work to achieve the goals and vision articulated by Product Management and your management chain
  • Improve our controls and platform health workflows, focusing on ensuring easy business as usual compliance processes
  • Improve or build out additional automation processes focusing on Docker and linux platforms services
  • Innovate within your team, initiative area and contribute within your technical domain
    • Essential Skills and Experience
  • Familiarity with modern CI/CD tools such as: Jenkins, TeamCity, CircleCI, Artifactory, Git, etc.
  • Strong background in Docker and container services with a good working knowledge of Linux and related scripting (e.g. bash)
  • Container Orchestrations
  • A basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and how it can be leveraged to ensure simple and effective workflows within a team
  • Youre able to effectively communicate and partner across engineering to maximise re-use and reduce waste
  • Youre an advocate for quality, leveraging approaches such as Pair Programming, TDD, BDD and
  • automating complex toolchains
    • Desirable Previous Expereince
  • Working on a Machine Learning Platform with Python as a main language and Docker as a key layer of infrastructure
  • Developing scalable solutions and infrastructure in the cloud/AWS while ensuring simplicity of workflows
  • Solving real world problems and being comfortable working in a complex regulated environment
  • Working across the enterprise on solutions to meet a vast array of requirements
