Our family-owned business is where to achieve more fromyourcareer by proudly building Britains future heritagewithus.TheDesignManagerrole:This key person will delivertechnicallycompliant, cost efficientdesignsolutions on construction projects during the work winning stage and/or through the projectdeliverystage. Youll assistwithsubmissionsand have an excellentappreciationof theclients needs, ensuring that all questions have been answered in full, providing a commercial solutionwiththe best possible chance of success.Responsibilitiesinclude:

  • Establish the quality of thedesignand verify the stage ofdesigndevelopmentand whether any elements of thedesigndo not complywiththe EmployersRequirements.
  • Identify, detail andevaluateareas where the compliantdesigncould be improved such that a better value solution could be offered in the project /tendersubmission.
  • Identify any errors or omissions in the tender/projectinformation, and provide advice on any such errors or omissions forinclusionon the Risk andOpportunitiesSchedule
  • Confirm thedesignis compliantwithStatutoryRequirementsincluding the Planning Permission, BuildingRegulations, CDMregulationsand any Contract specifiedDesignStandards and Codes of Practice
  • Assess, in conjunctionwiththe PlanningManager, thesuitabilityof the proposeddesignabout the proposed method and sequence of construction and provide advice regarding proposed changes to thedesign.
Yourprofile:The right person for this role will be able to immerse themselves into each project and workcollaborativelywiththe team and externalstakeholders. We are looking for a creativemanagerwho is aconfidentcommunicator, has high attention to detail, a positiveattitude and is resultsdriven.
  • Be a member of aprofessionalbody (e.g. CIOB, RICS, ICE, RIBA)
  • Experience of working within the construction industry,specificallyondesignand build, new build andrefurbishmentprojects.
  • Good knowledge of current CDM and BuildingRegulations
  • Experience as Design Manager on £40m + projects
  • Client engagement experience
  • P21-22, NEC3 Contracts and Healthcare experience would be an advantage
