Job Description

Delphi Architecture Lead / Technical LeadSalary c £50,000 - £55,000 + BonusLocation, UK, Home Based, Remote WorkingThe role of Technical Architecture Lead - is to provide technical architecture guidance to the teams responsible and accountable for developing, maintaining and supporting the business systems (Delphi 7 & Sybase)You will work with the other members of the technical architecture function and appropriate 3rd parties to ensure the legacy system is successfully transformed to a flexible microservices and serverless based architecture, along with the introduction and nurturing of innovation within it.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance in software design and development activities in conjunction with the Head of Software Engineering.
  • Directional overview and ownership of all technical changes within the business system
  • Work with the Architecture Lead - AWS, or equivalent AWS partner, when designing and developing new solutions based on the current functionality
  • Drive the transition from Delphi and C# to a flexible microservices and serverless architecture based on AWS technologies
  • Participate in research on emerging technologies to accelerate the development of our cloud-based development stack.
  • Perform technology/tool evaluations and software technical proof of concepts
  • Work with the development team to ensure and agreed standardised development suite of tools and standards, including code reviews and pull requests, are created and followed
  • Design, code, and debug software using, but not limited to, Delphi, Microsoft .Net (C#), ASP.NET, Node.js, Python, SQL Server, DynamoDB, RDS, Lambda, React.js
  • Improving, upgrading and maintaining the performance of existing software.
  • Work with the development team to ensure and agree that the technical approach for any project or change is fully understood
    • Skills / Experience Required:
  • 7-10 Years of experience in developing Enterprise scale applications and services
  • Significant experience building, integrating, maintaining and managing secure complex software architectures.
  • Solid technical and analytical skills including; Delphi, Microsoft .Net (C#) (Beneficial)
  • Self-motivated and wishing to make a difference, with a track record of achievements
  • Customer obsessed with a strong work ethic, drive and positive attitude are vital
  • Experience of delivering change in an agile environment, including employing principles like CI, CD and TDD
    • The role is permanently home based with occasional travel to the UK HQ which will be fully expensed.Commutable from most UK locations, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Essex, London, Portsmouth, Nottingham, Sheffield etc.
