An exciting opportunity for a Computer Vision Scientist has arisen with one of our Start-up clients based in Nottingham, who are at a pivotal stage in launching their first product into the minimally invasive surgery market. As a progressive start up my client are open to hearing from candidates who are looking for a role where they will be genuinely excited by the technology they are working with, to make a difference to patient’s lives and will embrace the culture found in successful start-ups.The RoleReporting directly to the Head of Research and Development and working closely with a small team, the candidate will be responsible for researching, developing, and implementing the image processing algorithms that runs on the company’s visualization platform. You will be working closely with the Software Engineer to implement algorithms in the most efficient manner and suitable for real time operation. You will have a Masters degree or a PhD in Computer Science paired with image processing and preferably with demonstrated experience of developing real – time computer vision algorithms. You must have experience in implementing computer vision algorithms on a GPU using OpenCL or CUDA. You also need to have knowledge of both MATLAB and C or C++ and excellent programming skills. You must have experience of working within ISO 13485 AND IEC 62304 and preparing documentation in relation to risk management ISO 14971, change control, design, and development process etc. This role would suit someone who has experience of optimizing algorithms for speed in terms of design and implementation as well as camera calibration and 3D reconstruction.The person who will be successful in this role needs to be able to work on their own initiative, be self-motivated when working independently. You must have excellent communication skills especially when relaying technical information to a non – technical audience.
