Job Description

Community Partnerships Officer / Volunteer Training Coordinator, known within the Charity as a My Sighted Guide Partnership Officer,with experience of volunteer management, supervision and development, experience of delivering training to groups and individuals and relevant experience of working within a safeguarding setting,is required to join a well-established Charity.SALARY: Starting from £31,000 per annum + Excellent BenefitsBENEFITS: 26 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays. Please keep an eye out for our email.JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Community Partnerships Officer / Volunteer Training Coordinator with experience of volunteer management, supervision and development, experience of delivering training to groups and individuals and relevant experienceof working within a safeguarding setting.As the Community Partnerships Officer / Volunteer Training Coordinator you will provide an exceptional person-centric service user experience, enabling people with sight loss to live the life they choose by acting as the champion and technical expert forsighted guiding services.Working as the Community Partnerships Officer / Volunteer Training Coordinator you will ensure the sighted guiding services are available, when appropriate, to service users at all stages of their mobility journey.DUTIESAs the Community Partnerships Officer / Volunteer Training Coordinator your duties will include:

  • Be the champion and technical expert for partnerships, both in the community team and region
  • Set up and support (often virtually) partnerships
  • Identify opportunities for new ways of working, embracing virtual options, and working with Volunteering colleagues to develop new roles
  • Work with Volunteering colleagues to ensure they are informed of the short and medium term volunteer requirements to enable their planning and targeted recruitment
  • Responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of partnerships
  • Manage and supervise Lead Volunteers
  • Work to renew existing partnerships alongside creating new ones
  • Provide a first class customer experience for those waiting and in service
  • Deliver Friends & Family training in accordance with regional and national plans
  • Accountable for delivery of and reporting against service targets agreed with regional managers
  • Work with peers in marketing and community development to identify and approach potential referral agencies
  • Ensure all databases are updated in real time and that partnerships are up to date with mandatory training, including refreshers

  • Proven experience of volunteer management, supervision, and development
  • Experience of delivering training to groups and individuals in different formats
  • Relevant and recent skills and experience working in a safeguarding setting or having responsibility for the safeguarding of others, e.g., social care, education, health, police, voluntary sector safeguarding lead
  • Recent and relevant experience of working within the children/vulnerable adults sector
  • Demonstrates an understanding of visual impairment issues and service requirements
  • Understands the importance of accessibility and usability in a training context
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
