They regulate a range of permitted sites to ensure compliance with the Environmental Permitting Regulations. Theyll also undertake pollution incident response and investigation. Youll support and facilitate the delivery of a wide range of administrative and compliance activities and enable our regulatory teams to secure positive outcomes for people and the environment.This role underpins the departmental performance and will be extremely varied Working closely with other teams and departments, you can expect to be involved in the following: Acting as an initial point of contact, communicating and filtering information for the team Maintaining data and information systems, ensuring the records are up to date, accessible and stored appropriately to facilitate team activities. Supporting a range of compliance and enforcement activities for the team Helping the team protect and collect the income we receive from permit fees and charges Handling and storing confidential information Maintaining essential team equipment Collating and providing information requested by internal and external customersThe East Midlands Regulated Industry Team is responsible for the regulation of a large number of sites and activities that require environmental permits. These permits cover a wide range of waste activities, industrial processes and places that use and dispose of radioactive substances.You will be based in Nottingham and the role will be predominantly Office based.Ideally, youll be educated to A level standard (or equivalent)Through your experience to date you should be able to demonstrate some of the following: The ability to work effectively in a dynamic and busy team environment Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop good working relationships with customers Bringing energy and enthusiasm to a team or department Ability to work on your own and as part of a team Using your initiative to make decisions and achieve planned outcomes Focus on efficiency, innovation and effectiveness Excellent organisational skills and strong IT skills.The key things they are looking for are transferrable skills and capabilities, so do not be put off applying if you dont have previous experience in this sector.
