Job Description

Location – NottinghamPay rate can be higher depending on experienceContract – Temp – 3 - 6 Months Ongoing (Unless Stated Otherwise)Your key responsibilities will be: We are seeking two Chartered Surveyors to provide professionally competent valuation and surveying advice and expertise to identify and deliver an asset review and disposal programme and contribute where necessary with portfolio and property management including asset valuation. They will handle sales by auction, informal tender and private treaty, assist in complex transactions and work collaboratively with colleagues, tenants, outside parties and Councillors.Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide professionally competent valuation and surveying advice and expertise to deliver the asset review programme
  • To work as part of a team to identify and deliver a programme of property disposals by private treaty, informal tender and auction in order to meet capital receipts targets
  • Collaborate closely with property and other service colleagues to identify property assets for disposal, de-risk sites and work through value enhancement solutions to optimise disposal values and build a robust disposal pipeline
  • Undertake the day to day management of commercial properties within the property portfolio and if needed support the Council’s asset valuation process.
  • To participate and advise Council services on the operational asset review undertaking options appraisals and information to inform decision making on the retention or disposal of service premises
  • Procure external property consultancy advice and manage the relationships for value for money, timely delivery and to the required quality
  • Contribute to the collection and collation of accurate and up to date property, management and performance information to support the programme and the property team
  • Prepare and deliver reports as required for all stakeholders in the asset review and disposals programme
    • Experience RequiredQualifications
  • Degree level or equivalent and MRICS or FRICS qualified
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Registered valuer
    • Experience
  • Experience in a similar working environment
  • Experience of managing a programme of varied property transactions
  • Working in a small internal and external professional team
  • Experience in property disposal and value enhancement strategies
  • Experience of valuation of all types of property asset
