Job Description

CCTV/Security Engineer - £35kLocation: Birmingham/Leicester/South Notts (Base location); Travel within the region and occasional overnight stays requiredWorking Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per weekJob Purpose: To support in service activities, including installation and fault rectification, ensuring the Region is efficient and profitable by meeting customer expectations within agreed timescales. The role involves dealing with large-scale,high-end integrated surveillance control systems for diverse client bases, requiring flexibility, a can do attitude, and occasional travel away from home.General:

  • Provide reliable, courteous, and efficient service.
  • Maintain a positive company image through high standards of dress and communication.
  • Close/update helpdesk after each service visit.
  • Ensure company vehicles are well-maintained.
  • Adhere to company Management Systems.
  • Assist with the call-out rota.
Field-Based:
  • Care, maintenance, and repair of complex Analogue and Digital CCTV Systems.
  • Care, maintenance, and repair of functional and managed control rooms.
  • Care, maintenance, and repair of multi-site Access Control Systems.
  • Support and maintain Perimeter Detection Systems.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance.
  • Occasional nights away.
  • Assist with the call-out rota.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Sound knowledge of CCTV, IT, and PID Systems.
  • Sound knowledge of Access Control systems with Site Mustering.
  • Sound knowledge of DVR & NVR systems.
  • Desirable knowledge in areas such as PIDs, Galaxy Alarms, Cortech GUICEM Access Control, SynergyVideo, Matrix Systems, IP Systems, Networks, Raid Recording, and first-line repairs on Gates and Barriers.
  • Experience in CCTV, Auto Electricals, or Electronics.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic IT competence.
  • Desirable: Electrical qualification (NVQ, BTEC, or Apprentice trained).
  • Desirable: 5 GCSEs or equivalent, preferably in English, Maths, or Science.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Relevant experience; knowledge of the bus industry, CCTV, or electrical is desirable.
  • Full training will be provided.
