CaseworkerHome-based: North East and East MidlandsAbout UsPerennial is the nations only charity dedicated to helping people in horticulture. Together with our network of partners, we provide free support, information, advice, financial assistance and services for horticulturalists and their loved ones experiencingillness, disability, bereavement, family breakdown and financial difficulties.We have a real focus on improving the health and wellbeing outcomes of people working in horticulture and have an ambitious preventative strategy to create better futures for people working in horticulture.We are currently seeking a Caseworker to join us on a permanent, full-time basis. There are both part-time and full-time positions available for this role.The Benefits- Salary of up to £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)- 25 days’ holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays increasing with long service- Pension- Sickness pay- Buy extra leave- Time off for dependentsThis is a fantastic opportunity for a personable individual with experience of staffing a helpline and a great grasp of confidentiality to join our crucial organisation.In this highly rewarding role, your talents will help us to continue our vital work, ensuring we can keep providing advice and care when horticulturalists need it most.What’s more, by joining our friendly team, you will have the chance to further your professional experience and grow your portfolio whilst making a key difference to our organisation.The RoleAs a Caseworker, you will provide advice, information and support to horticulturalists.Working collaboratively with horticulturalists and their families, you will help explore issues and identify, co-ordinate and implement solutions.You will offer generalist advice across areas such as social care, health, benefits, housing and employment, aiming to build enough confidence for the individual to address these problems personally in the future.About YouTo be considered as a Caseworker, you will need:- Experience of undertaking comprehensive holistic assessments across outcome areas of health, wellbeing, self-care, housing, money, family, relationships, safety and crime- Experience of measuring the impact of interventions delivered- Experience in delivering a telephone helpline or advice service in the community or in service users homes- Experience of scrutinising complex information to produce concise reports- Experience of working within safeguarding frameworks- Good knowledge of legal and welfare issues relating to children and vulnerable adults- The ability to use IT systems including Microsoft Word and Excel- The ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a non-judgmental manner- A certificate in Advice and Guidance (or the willingness to gain the qualification during the probationary period)The closing date for applications is 21st January 2024.Other organisations may call this role Helpline Advisor, Helpline Caseworker, Helpline Operator, Call Handler, Benefits Advisor, Employment Advisor, Helpline Support Advisor, Customer Service Advisor, Customer Service Representative, or Support Line Advisor.Webrecruit and Perennial are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
