CAD Technician Nottinghamc£25k- £30k neg dep exp + benOur client has been established for almost half a century and specialise in the design, development, manufacture and commission of a range of products and solutions used in the mechanical and electrical building services sector supporting cabling, pipework and HVAC applications, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated CAD Technician to join their established and professional team.Based in Nottingham and reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be tasked with producing accurate drawings of both mechanical and electrical building services using structural engineering knowledge and experience, and will include roof supports, bracketry, modular frames, pipe support systems and walkways using Autodesk Inventor and interacting with customers models in Navisworks and REVIT from initial design through to fabrication and installation-ready drawings.Able to handle multiple projects whilst working in an often-pressurised environment, you will be able to understand and visualize customers individual needs in order to provide designed and engineered solutions that meet specifications, situational detail, and budget requirements, and will excel in the creation of high quality (right first time) technical 2D & 3D drawings. You will essentially possess excellent communication skills at all levels and will be confident in liaising with the sales team, customers and the workshop to understand and deliver the required elements of the design and will be comfortable in working both autonomously and as part of a team.Other responsibilities will include delivering detailed manufacturing drawings to the workshop for construction, producing cutting lists of materials internally to the workshop, supplying detailed requirements to 3rd parties for laser cut parts, powder coating or galvanising or other outsourced work as necessary, and supporting the Engineering Manager in performing basic structural load calculations. You will also produce accurate BOMs to manufacture the design, develop design concepts for new products and innovations and support the building of the automation program and BIM library.To be considered for this varied and challenging CAD Technician role, you will possess relevant mechanical, structural or design engineering qualifications and at least 3 years previous CAD Technician experience in the use of Autodesk Inventor and REVIT used to produce structural engineering design drawings. With a meticulous eye for detail, you will adopt an innovative approach to design in order to deliver bespoke customer solutions, whilst being mindful of th practical and commercial needs of the business and will be aware of industry specific standards and experienced in completing load calculations for designs with the ability to discuss complex issues at all levels where required.Contact the Design Team at Premier Technical Recruitment on or email your cv in confidence to for further details.
