Nottingham City Homes are looking for a Building Safety Officerto join their team. £33,782 to £36,922 per annum, plus excellent benefits package37 hours per week based at Harvey Road, Nottingham, NG8Contract type: Permanent Nottingham City Homes manages more than 27,000 homes across the city on behalf of Nottingham City Council. Our vision is to create homes and places where people want to live. We are looking to appoint a Building Safety Officer in our Asset Management team who will report into the Building Safety Manager. This is a pivotal safety role which provides a fantastic opportunity for you to assist in leading, developing, and promotingeffective Building Safety for the Company.You will support the service manager in relation to building compliance including; maintaining all safety and building regulation documentation, ensuring all safety checks are regularly undertaken in line with companies Building Safety policy and we willlook to you to work with external partners and teams across the business to ensure all work is carried out in a safe, efficient and timely manner. A key element of this role will be liaising with other departments to review local procedures and working practicesto ensure policies and procedures are being followed in line with the Companys risk agenda, making recommendations for change and challenging others work/processes where needed.We will look to you to actively support and engage with occupants and residents within our buildings; including issuing safety updates and addressing any concerns and issues raised in an efficient way to minimise risks to individuals or damage to property.Alongside this you will conduct regular spot checks of the equipment and facilities within buildings, manage and maintain all relevant records and history of a building/site to meet legislative guidelines and monitor contractors on site, liaising with ProjectManagers when work is being undertaken on site and intervene if safety/fire practices do not meet required standards.In order to succeed in this role you will come to us with knowledge and experience of building safety, including relevant principles and technical understanding, as well as the ability to monitor and update information systems. Excellent communication skillswill be fundamental to this role; candidates will need to be able to communicate complex and sometimes difficult messages not only to tenants and residents, but also to other senior stakeholders within the business and relevant partners.Salary and benefits:In exchange for your hard work you will receive a fantastic benefits package that includes:
