Job Description

Position: Behavior Support AssistantLocation: NottinghamRole Overview: As a Behavior Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioral and emotional needs. Working closely with experienced staff, you will create and implement strategies to promote positive behavior, fostersocial skills, and enhance overall well-being. Your compassionate approach and ability to build meaningful relationships with students will contribute to their personal growth and academic success.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to identify students who require behavior support and develop individualized plans.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, implementing behavior management techniques and interventions.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, serving as a role model and mentor.
  • Assist in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Document and track student progress, providing regular feedback to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external professionals, such as counselors or therapists, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to their personal development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Experience working with students with behavioral or emotional difficulties (preferred).
  • An understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, counseling, psychology, or a related field (desirable).
