Job Description

Job Title: Bank Employee Relations Case InvestigatorLocation: Nottingham City Hospital, Hucknall Road, NG5 1PB (home working is available but need to be able to travel to all sites as and when required.)Pay: £23.52 per hourShift Pattern/ Hours: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm (37.5 hours a week)Trust Location: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS TrustWould you like to be a part of a team that works well together, always there to help each other If you answered yes, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is the place for you.About the TrustWe deliver district general services to 2.5m residents of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, and its surrounding communities. Our specialist services allow us to deliver care to 4.5m people from across the East Midlands and nationally for a handful of services.QMC is where our Emergency Department (ED), Major Trauma Centre and the Nottingham Childrens Hospital are based. It is also home to the University of Nottinghams School of Nursing and Medical School. Nottingham City Hospital is our planned care site, whereour cancer centre, heart centre and stroke services are based, and where some of our emergency admissions units are located. Ropewalk House is where we provide a range of outpatient services, including hearing services.What youll be responsible for:

  • Lead the identified investigation ensuring that a fair and impartial investigationtakes place within the agreed timescales.
  • Review the case and develop an investigation plan in line with the agreedinvestigation Terms of Reference.
  • Update the Commissioning Manager in line with the agreed reporting arrangements.Actively seek the support of the assigned People Directorate team member
  • Treat all individuals engaged in the process with sensitivity and neutrality andexercise a high level of confidentiality.
  • Act as a neutral third-party investigator to ensure prompt, thorough, and impartialinvestigation of all cases.
  • Compile the investigation documents in a professional electronic format in line withthe ER Case pack guidance.
Youll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
  1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
Youll have the following skills/experience:
  • Level 7 CIPD but will accept level 5
  • Experience in a HR generalist advisory role with exposure to a range of HR issues
  • Experience of interpreting and advising on complex terms and conditions and policies and procedures including attendance management, disciplinary, grievance
  • Experience of using and extracting information from workforce information systems
  • Up to date knowledge of key employment legislation (existing and prospective) and HR best practice
  • Able to initiate, prioritise and plan a range of activities without regular supervision.
