Job Description

DF Recruitment are excited to be recruiting an Assistant FinancialAccountant to join a friendly, hardworking Nottingham based business. Working for a group of companies, you will be responsible for the Financial Accounting of 4 of the businesses within the group. This role would really suit somebody that is currently studying towards their ACCA or ACA (CIMA and AAT could be considered depending on your work history). We are looking for somebody that is looking to develop their financial accounting experience and the ideal candidate will have experience of working within a group or a business with some complex financial reporting.Supporting the Finance Managerin the consolidation of the group’s management, overhead, cash and debt reporting, accounting for the group and administration of the group’s NetSuite ERP system, as well as any ad hoc projects that arise.Your average day will include:

  • Administration of the group’s NetSuite ERP system including:
  • Monitoring the daily uploadof files and resolving errors when they arise
  • Supporting the wider finance team with queries, including researching solutions
  • Ownership of the Chart of Accounts
  • Dealing with any other issues as they arise
    • You will be responsible for group reporting:
  • Completion of the monthly group reporting pack for the fourentities
  • Review of group reporting packs for the trading businesses in the group
  • Ownership of group overhead reporting (actual and budget), including commentary
  • Review of the weekly cash forecast submissions from trading businesses, and preparation of the consolidated report
  • Review of the weekly debt report submissions from trading businesses, and preparation of the consolidated report
  • Preparation of the draft cash section of the monthly CFO report
    • Other duties will include:
  • Management of the group’s external loans – ensuring interest accruals are accurate, payments are made on time and accounts postings are accurate
  • Ownership of the inter-company balance reconciliation process – ensuring all balances agree, and that all loans are supported by agreements
    • The successful candidatewill have the following experience:Essential
  • Working towards a relevant accounting qualification (eg ACCA / ACA)
  • Experience of working in industry (as well as / rather than in an accounting practice)
  • Exposure to a comprehensive ERP system (as a user rather than as an admin)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone with a wide variety of individuals
  • Ability to research, analyse and interpret complex information and produce clear verbal and written reports
  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise work, handle pressure and make day-to-day decisions
  • Strong Excel skills
    • `Desirable
  • Previous exposure to group reporting
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Exposure to FX transactions and translations
  • Knowledge of cash forecasting processes
  • Experience of working within a private equity environment
