Brook Street are excited to be recruiting for a short term temporary role located in Nottingham city centre.It is an exciting opportunity to join the East Midlands Regulated Industry department and be part of our Regulatory Support Officer team. We regulate a range of permitted sites to ensure compliance with the Environmental Permitting Regulations. We also undertake pollution incident response and investigation. Youll support and facilitate the delivery of a wide range of administrative and compliance activities and enable our regulatory teams to secure positive outcomes for people and the environment.This role underpins our departmental performance and will be extremely varied Working closely with other teams and departments, you can expect to be involved in the following:o Acting as an initial point of contact, communicating and filtering information for the team o Maintaining data and information systems, ensuring our records are up to date, accessible and stored appropriately to facilitate team activities. o Supporting a range of compliance and enforcement activities for the teamo Helping the team protect and collect the income we receive from permit fees and chargeso Handling and storing confidential informationo Maintaining essential team equipment o Collating and providing information requested by internal and external customersThe East Midlands Regulated Industry Team is responsible for the regulation of a large number of sites and activities that require environmental permits. These permits cover a wide range of waste activities, industrial processes and places that use and dispose of radioactive substances.You will be based at the Nottingham Trentside Office and the role will be predominantly Office based.Ideally, youll be educated to A level standard (or equivalent)Through your experience to date you should be able to demonstrate some of the following:o The ability to work effectively in a dynamic and busy team environmento Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop good working relationships with customers o Bringing energy and enthusiasm to a team or departmento Ability to work on your own and as part of a teamo Using your initiative to make decisions and achieve planned outcomes o Focus on efficiency, innovation and effectivenesso Excellent organisational skills and strong IT skills.The key things were looking for are transferrable skills and capabilities, so do not be put off applying if you dont have previous experience in this sector.
