Job Description

Summary Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of a passionate team, this role as a Welcome and Service Assistant plays a core part in providing fantastic customer service and growing support for the National Trust as a whole and the 2 sites we look after,Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park.This is a flexible hourly paid contract, and hours and days worked will vary each week. During the busy summer holidays, this will likely be 3 or 4 days per week.Working bank holidays and weekends are an essential part of the role. What its like to work here Reporting to the Welcome Manager, youll work across 2 beautiful National Trust properties, Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park. Both are equally fascinating and lovely places to visit, with their own unique charms. As one team across these 2 properties, wegive the same fantastic service at both and are equally as passionate and knowledgeable about both special places. The close-knit team, friendly people, and beautiful locations make for a great place to work.Felbrigg Hall is one of the most elegant country houses in East Anglia. The rolling landscaped park with its lake, woods, and waymarked trails is great for family days out. The fine walled garden grows flowers for the house, as well as vegetables sometimesused in the Tearoom. Roles within Felbrigg Halls team are highly sought after, and the team prides itself on its commitment to the estate.Sheringham Park has a beautiful country house set within a woodland garden, famed for its vast collection of rhododendrons and azaleas. The 1,000-acre estate boasts colourful wildlife and breath-taking views towards the North Norfolk coast, making SheringhamPark a dream working environment for many. What youll be doing As a Welcome & Service Assistant, its your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day.Youll be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place youll work with the visitor welcome team to linkeverything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do.Youll deliver high standards of presentation at the property and ensure all our communications with our visitors are clear and consistent, from the first click on the website, to the posters and signs around the property. Who were looking for Youll need to have the following experience:

  • Can demonstrate an empathetic, understanding and adaptable approach to different peoples needs, with a passion to deliver the highest standards of customer care.
  • Proven experience of working to measurable targets
  • Good team worker- flexible and adaptable and willing to grow experience and skillset across several different operation aspects of the property
  • Skilled listener with great people skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Well organised and able to work with minimum supervision
