Job Description

Finance, Planning and Governance DivisionTrainee Payroll AssistantRef: SC4216£18,852 to £19,623 per annum (Grade 3 with progression to Grade 4)We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Payroll Assistant to join our busy Payroll team. The role has been introduced to assist with the fast paced, day to day administration of monthly payrolls and to support the team in providing excellent customerservice in Payroll delivery.With full support learn how to:

  • Calculate payments to staff including statutory payments
  • Enter employee information on the payroll system
  • Review and process data received from multiple sources
  • Deal with payroll queries
The successful candidate will demonstrate organisational and customer service skills, attention to detail and an aptitude and potential for developing in a fast-paced environment.What were looking for:
  • Good IT skills (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Attention to detail
This full-time indefinite post is available immediately. You will be expected to carry out the duties and responsibilities as laid out in job description and have the opportunity of following a development framework which will give you the knowledge andattributes, for which, on successful evaluation against the development framework, the Trainee Payroll Assistant will be a skilled Payroll Assistant and receive the appropriate grade for this role.Closing date: 17 August.2022The University is committed to diversifying its workforce.
