Job Description

A leading Engineering business in Snetterton are looking to hire a Trainee Mechanical Technician on a full-time, permanent basis. This role would ideally suit a recent college graduate, who has mechanical engineering qualifications and is looking for theirfirst role out of education.This is a hands-on mechanical assembly role and one that will see you involved in building sub-assemblies which are used for EV motors and gearboxes. Youll work as part of a team alongside other Technicians, supporting with various production processesthroughout the build phase.Responsibilities of the Mechanical Assembly Technician will include:

  • Assembling & disassembling of vehicles, EV Motors & Gearboxes.
  • Change over equipment on test rigs.
  • Read and understand technical drawings and other specifications to carry out production tasks.
  • Discuss potential changes in design and assembly with Senior Technicians and Engineers, exploring new and innovative methods of working.
Skills and experience required for the Mechanical Assembly Technician will include:
  • Ability to operate tooling and machinery.
  • Recent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience using hand & power tools, such as: drill press, bench and hand grinders, digital measuring tools, torque wrenches and pipe benders.
  • Ability to work to a high level of accuracy with good attention to detail.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, but who obtains assistance when required.
