Job Description

Role – Toolroom EngineerLocation – NorwichSalary - £27,000 to £35,000 DOEOur fast paced and growing manufacturing client requires an industry experienced Toolroom Engineer to join an ever-growing team.The role,

  • To carryout maintenance, cleaning, repair and servicing of Injection Moulds to ensure the tools are operating to maximum capacity with minimum disruption to production and ensuring downtime does not impact customer orders. Ensuring all activities are safety critical and work is carried out to safety and COSHH standards
  • Milling, Turning, Grinding to ensure there are no scratches, dints that will affect overall standard of product and polishing parts to restore finish due to damage and wear. Working to tolerances, using CNC mill and manual mills to machine components and cylindrical grinders to prepare finishes on component.
  • Undertake TIG welding to repair parts for cells and finishing tools, moulds, and components, repair broken cavities, and carry out fabrication work including raising heights on machines and making electrical boxes
  • Checking tolerances on parts to make sure they are within specification. Using CMM measuring equipment, micrometers, calipers, slips and gauges, microscopes and cameras to achieve standard specification.

  • Must be qualified to a minimum C&G / NVQ Level 3 – HNC/HND desirable
  • Time served Engineering Apprenticeship within a Manufacturing environment would be advantageous – experience of hands on operating, turning, milling, CNC equipment
  • Experience of working with moulds and Injection Moulding Equipment
  • Strong team player with good communication skills
