Job Description

Orbit is a fantastic business and one that’s really going places.Tenancy Services is part of the Customer Services Directorate and is split into two streams of Community Safety and Anti-Fraud and Response; both are responsible for delivering day to day tenancy management and are part of getting us match fit to embrace opportunities and challenges both now and in the future. Key to this has been changing how we work and how we deliver services to customers and work with our partners.So far we have defined what we will and will not do in our role as landlord, created three regions, moved to a patchless model and created teams of experts rather than asking colleagues to be jacks of all trades and masters of none’. To ensure we deliver what we say we will and to help drive where we go next, we are looking for a dynamic and inspiring Tenancy Services Officer - Community Safety and Anti-Fraud (CSAF) for our East Region.As Tenancy Services Officer CSAF you will:

  • Manage Community Safety related cases as defined by Orbit policy, with a focus on safeguarding but also including allegations of Anti-Social Behaviour, Domestic Abuse, Hate Crime, and Tenancy Fraud.
  • Resolve cases swiftly by investigating, gathering evidence and using a variety of tools and powers, including preparing case files and Court documents and leading on obtaining injunctions and possession at Court without legal support.
  • Support complainants and witnesses to help Orbit as a landlord to tackle bad behaviour; also supporting perpetrators to change their behaviour as appropriate.
  • Nurture and manage strong professional relationships with partner agencies; including Local Authorities, Fire Service and the Police Service ensuring that Orbit always plays its role as a landlord.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to internal colleagues on all aspects of Community Safety.
  • Ensure that Orbit plays its part in ensuring that customers are safe, and the reputation of the Group is protected.
  • Skills / Experience Required
  • Substantive experience of managing safeguarding issues to resolution
  • High level of knowledge in relevant legislation and Community Safety issues and best practice
  • Able to prepare case files and be willing to undertake training to present cases in court settings.
  • Experience of successfully delivering good outcomes through partnership working
  • Able to support complainants and witnesses, whilst also dealing with difficult and challenging people including perpetrators
  • Able to prepare and deliver briefings to colleagues
  • An innovative thinker with an ability to be flexible in approach in a busy and ever changing environment
  • Excellent verbal and other communication skills, including the ability to prepare complex reports
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to assimilate results
  • High levels of IT literacy
  • A flexible approach to working hours and location
  • Ability to travel across the business to meet the requirements of the role
