Technical Specialist - Infrastructure Core 73254 FNJE (2) County Hall, Norwich£36,681 to £40,875 per annum37 hours per weekPermanent contractWe have a great opportunity for a networking specialist to take responsibility for the maintenance and development of our networking infrastructure, to help shape and implement our new network.Were looking to hire someone pro-active to lead the development and change of our Infrastructure Core in the role of Technical Specialist. If you have a technical background working with enterprise level IT infrastructure, then we here at Norfolk CountyCouncil would like to hear from you.Norfolk County Council are the main local authority for Norfolk providing services county wide to Norfolk residents. We take a lead in critical policy areas, and we work in partnership with local businesses, voluntary organisations and other local authoritiesto provide the people of Norfolk with excellent services.This role sits within our IMT Infrastructure Delivery Team, who are responsible for the 24/7 operation of our ICT systems. Working across a broad portfolio of both cloud based and on-premise systems, the team play a key role in ensuring the confidentiality,integrity, security and accessibility of our data, and business critical solutions which are used both internally and externally.The focus of the role will be the management, administration, development, and implementation of the councils enterprise network. It is a broad role with a range of responsibilities, and day to day you will be involved with the following:

  • Maintaining the councils enterprise Huawei network infrastructure
  • Developing and implementing our new future network infrastructure
  • Implementing changes and developing the network
  • Implementation of our Zero-Trust architecture
  • Leading a team of technical analysts
  • Managing the remote access solution
  • Securing the councils data assets
  • Working with colleagues from other disciplines
  • Develop complex connectivity solutions
  • Ensure we implement sustainable, greener solutions to meet our Carbon Neutral agenda
To be considered for the role youll need a background working in a technical capacity within enterprise scale IT environments and will be technically adept with industry standard infrastructure technologies. Youll also need exposure to systems developmentand integration projects, first class communication and relationship building skills, and a positive and proactive approach.We know were asking for a lot, but in return we think we have a lot to offer.
