An excellent permanent opportunity has arisen for a Stores Assistant, based at our very well respected Engineering and Manufacturing client in the Norwich area. We are looking for a candidate, ideally with experience of working in a fast paced Stores environment, with a can-do attitude and a willingness to see any job to the end. Good numeracy, literacy and the ability to integrate into a well established team isalso crucial for this opportunity, therefore the successful candidate will be an excellent all round communicator at all levels. Below is a list of key areas and responsibilities and the successful candidate will ideally have experience in a similar role;• The acquisition of stock from external suppliers in Goods-in, the subsequent processing and counting of items received and passing on to relevant internal departments. • The timely acquisition of stock, with a view of locating stock quickly and accurately and updating the system to reflect the physical stock transition.• To ensure, that all items picked are expedited and processed according to the system and that the items are moved in a controlled way to the shop floor, with any discrepancies to be fully investigated.• To form an integral part of the picking team, to locate, pick and label items stored on the pick face and within the Lean Lifts with an emphasis on picking accuracy and efficiency.• To work diligently and closely with other departments to ensure that the production schedule is fulfilled based on the JIT (Just in Time) nature of the Supply-Chain.• To be involved in the annual stock takes, to count various stock locations to ensure data integrity in-line with our system held inventory.• To carry out investigations and ad-hoc checks to always ensure inventory accuracy and integrity.• To be involved in location creation and location maintenance.• To assist with the store’s continuous improvement programme.This is a permanent opportunity working Monday to Friday days, within a very interesting company and with a fantastic working culture.
