Staff WriterLocation: Cringleford, near Norwich, NorfolkSalary: £18,000 per annumContract: Permanent, Full TimeHours: Mon-Thurs, 8 - 5, Fridays 8 - 1 (although some overtime may be required)Founded in the UK in 1999, Schofield Publishing currently produces nine business-to-business magazines that are distributed throughout Great Britain, Europe, the US and the rest of the world, both in print and digitally. Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Construction and Food/Beverage are some of the sectors covered in the publications.Schofield Publishing is currently recruiting for an experienced Staff Writer to join its production team.Based in the office near Norwich in Norfolk, the Staff Writer will be responsible for conducting telephone interviews with senior directors of companies in order to write articles, referred to as company profiles’. These articles could be within any of the magazines in the porfolio. Each publication differs slightly in style and guidance and assistance will be on offered to the successful candidates in order for them to achieve the desired content and tone. The ability to write profiles that are interesting and convey the featured company’s message while remaining business-like and avoiding hyperbole and over embellishment is essential.All calls are recorded, so the Writer will be responsible for transcribing the calls in order to retrieve the information needed for the article.The ideal candidate will be expected to complete a minimum of one article per day with another started each day, with a view to achieving two per day - articles can vary in length from 850 to 2000+ words.The writer will also be expected to assist with admin duties, including updating spreadsheets and so forth.As the Staff Writers work in a very close-knit team, the new member of staff will have to quickly be able to establish themselves within this group and be able to work cohesively as part of this team.Ideal attributes of a Staff Writer
