Job Description

Offering a friendly and rewarding working environment, a meaningful opportunity to help support those in anunder-resourced area anda range of benefits, YMCA Norfolk is looking for a proactive Site Supervisor to join their new Community Hub site on Aylsham Road, Norwich.YMCA Norfolk is a Christian charity committed to supporting disadvantaged young people to enable them to reach their full potential. We believe that all young people deserve to have a safe place to live and a supportive environment in which to develop.Our Community Hub opening April 2021 comprises of: a community café, a children’s nursery, a soft play centre, youth clubs and on site pastoral support.The Role:Thisweekday positioninvolves an initial 15 hour contract, with room for hour increases depending on the needs of the site (up to 20 hours). Hours will comprise of shift work Monday to Friday that will be mornings and evenings.Role responsibilities for the Site Supervisor:

  • Provide and manage the day to day maintenance for YMCA Norfolk’s Community Hub including its grounds and services
  • Ensure a quality standard of security and care is provided through the building
  • Ensure that all hygiene, care and security practices are operated to meet compliance with Health and safety regulations
  • Maintain building security through locking up responsibilities and CCTV monitoring
  • Provide low level maintenance in coordination with the internal maintenance team
  • Complete weekly checks on the building’s fire alarm
  • Report any security concerns to the relevant YMCA Norfolk teams
  • Undertake monthly water testing
  • Maintain communication and relationships with external contractors such as gardeners and cleaners
  • Report any maintenance or health and safety issues to the internal maintenance team
  • Provide an out of hours service on an agreed rota basis to respond to any security concerns
  • Ensure that the performance requirements of YMCA Norfolk and funders are met
    • Person specification – Site Supervisor:
  • Experience of undertaking day to day maintenance activities to buildings
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements relating to our sites
  • A proactive and positive individual who works well within a team and independently
  • You should hold a driving licence and reliable mode of transport
  • Solution focused with good problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good attention to detail and time management skills
  • Able to develop strong positive working relationships with colleagues and external contacts
  • Able and willing to work unsocial hours
